I'm Olivera,
nice to meet you.

User Experience Designer passionate about content-driven experiences. Over 20 years experience as a Sr. Graphic Designer & Art Director in the retail industry (Garden of Life Nutritional Supplements, PC Financial, Pepsico, Shoppers Drug Mart). Working for such brands, developed a strong understanding of the overlap between business & design.

My superpower is UX strategy utilizing empathy, critical thinking & research insights. Education at the Ontario College of Art & Design’s (B Des) taught me how to create brand identity and develop brand standards. University of Toronto’s UX UI Design Bootcamp taught me User-Centric Design & Research with proficiency in delivering user experiences across mobile, desktop, tablet & other channels.

Building on retail industry experience, I’m looking to work as a UX designer within e-commerce to optimize the shopper experience across all devices and increase conversion rates. Fluent in French.

How I got started in user experience design

As a predominantly print-based Senior Art Director and Graphic Designer, I applied foundational User Centred principles early on in my career. I continued this practice as I developed social media and email marketing skills.

With a growing interest in user experience, in 2020 I completed University of Toronto's UX UI Design Bootcamp, broadening and deepening my User Centred skillset to a whole new level. I'm passionate about crafting strategically sound User Experiences.

What I've been working on

My superpower is finding the best UX strategy at the beginning stage of each project.

I'm focused on end-users’ needs with a keen understanding of business drivers for government, non-profit, CPG, B2B and B2C. User-Centric Design & Research with proficiency in delivering user experiences across mobile, desktop, tablet & other channels.

What I'm curious about

Alongside my passion for UX design, my background as a Sr. Art Director as well as a Yoga Teacher has lead me to evaluate the similarities between these three disciplines. The common thread is empathy, attentiveness, curiosity and alignment. I'm curious about how the ancient practice and philosophy of Yoga can inform User Centred principles? How can a regular yoga practice help us find work-life balance and prevent burnout?
